The owners of Snorkel Bob, Hawai’i Premiere Mortgage, The Maui Closet and Down To Earth are part of a panel of Maui retail experts that will share “how I did it” at the “Masters of Retail Success on Maui” event.

The event is to be held Feb. 27 at the Maui Tropical Plantation. It’s a collaborative effort between the Maui Business Brainstormers, a local business networking group, and Maui Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce.

On Wednesday, attendees will have a rare opportunity to meet and listen to Maui retail “gurus” tell how they created highly successful businesses on Maui. Each panelist will take their audience through the bad times and the good, providing valuable insights and advice, and discusses what they learned from the different challenges they faced in each stage of their business growth.

“The road to success for a business owner is tough—much work, sacrifice and risk,” said Grace Fung, an event organizer and owner of A Big WOW, a Maui-based graphic design artist. “These fascinating stories of success will empower those on the path or poised to start.”

The four guest speakers are: Robert Wintner, owner of Snorkel Bob’s; Tricia Morris, owner of Hawaii’s Premiere Mortgage Company, Debra Finkiewicz, owner of The Maui Closet Company, and the Mark Fergusson, the chief executive officer of Down to Earth.

These executives will share their entrepreneurial stories, including: how they got inspired; how big mistakes led to new ideas for their businesses; fears they overcame; how they beat the odds and trends; how they use social media to increase brand visibility and connect with customers; and how they reinvent themselves to stay abreast of the times.

The event will be held at the Maui Tropical Plantation from 5 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. and dinner will be included.
